  1. Experimenting with Reichenbach CoE 94(+/-2) Dark Multicolor and Multicolor rods (lampwork cane). Beads before and after being kilned, and beads before and after being etched.  Set one and set two were made with the same glass, but at different times. I'm not sure what I did to achieve such different colours from the same glass, but I think that one set was made on a more neutral flame and the other set were made on a flame with a little more oxyen in it. Set three were made on a neutral flame; I noticed that with the Multicolor if I made the flame hotter the colour became darker.

  2. We have lots of new stock that should be arriving within the next few weeks.  There is Gaffer glass rods and frit coming all the way from NewZealand, and Reichenbach glass rods coming from Germany.

We are going to expand our range of frit to include some more varying sized frit, such as Reichenbach Grain and K0 sizes, as these are brilliant for producing interesting effects when making beads. We already stock some frits of varying sizes in both Gaffer and Reichenbach; when the new sized frit arrives sections will be put in the shop so that it is easy to find what you are looking for.

If anyone has any particular sized or coloured frit that they would like to see in the shop, please let us know and we will try our best to stock it.

  3. My New Year resolution is to make the 'Hints & Tips' section more organised; so my first step is to make a section that is completely dedicated to 'Bead Recipe's' and a section for 'Glass Colours', where the single colours can be seen made up into spacer beads, in groups of pinks, purples, greens, blues etc.

  4. I've had great fun making these beads with frit.  I'm not very good at keeping recipes or remembering how I made beads (maybe that is why I can never repeat them), so I am going to write down the ingredients used to make these beads before I forget.  I have now started the 'Bead Recipe' page, this can be found in the 'Hints & Tips' section.  I still have a lot of tidying up and organising to do on the site, but it is slowly getting there.
